An issue of Excalibur with Otherworld AND the Coven Akkaba? What have we done to deserve this? The coronation of Betsy Britain into the Corps continues… seventeen issues in. If she ain’t legit by now… is she ever going to be?
Also: In lieu of a Mailbag section, I fantasy-book my new (Hellfire Gala) X-Men team!

I enjoyed this issue of Excalibur quite a bit more than usual. I like the idea of characters in a cross-time World creating a guidebook for when their alternate counterparts eventually arrive. It's logical within the World of Queen Elisabeth. I also thought Howard and To did a good job of delineating the differences and similarities between the two Betsies and their histories.
What I couldn't understand was our Betsy's motivation for questioning an alternate Kwannon. What is she going to discover that is helpful? Are we meant to assume that Betsy wants to talk with Kwannon but feels too guilty to approach the one she replaced. I still don't quite see the purpose from the character's point of view but it was a great way to illustrate the difference between the Earths.
One of my favourite elements of this story was Rogue's inability to keep the whole England/GB/UK thing straight. It felt genuine and made me smile. I just hope there is something coming to rehabilitate Rictor. He's really boring now. It's all druids and Apocalypse. Could we transfer him to X-Factor so he can go to Mojoworld and "team-up" with Shatterstar again. I'm sure he could take his mind off the druids.
Anyway, until the druids come after me for calling them boring, Make Mine X-Lapsed.
