Welcome to the HoXPoXDoXSoXRoX King in Black cash-in one-shot.  If we used to refer to certain Crisis on Infinite Earths tie-ins as “Red Sky Crossovers”, I suppose we can call this a “Symbiote Dragon Sky Crossover”.

Here, the Marauders very nearly get involved with the main King in Black story (rescuing the Cyclops Who Laughs and the Storm Who Laughs)… before being distracted by a passing boat.

Even though Marauders is my favourite current X-book I skipped this issue as I do not care about Venom or Knull or any of the King in Black nonsense. Having read this on Unlimited I am regretting my choices. This is a really good issue of Marauders.

I wonder if it was deliberately designed to introduce the Marauders concept. When you covered the sales figures we were surprised that Marauders wasn't a better seller so it would make sense to use the crossover to promote what's great about Marauders. This issue really does a good job of introducing the concept and the key characters.

I particularly loved the use of Lockheed and the chihuahua analogy.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a previous story with refugees actually trying to get to Krakoa. I can imagine the medicines being enough to prompt people to sail to Krakoa mutant or not.

I loved Luke Ross's art as well. Last time I saw him he seemed to be trying to be a less porny Greg Land and I far prefer this looser more immediate style.

Very, very enjoyable. Anyway, until I start to care about Venom, Make Mine X-Lapsed!
