This episode contained an inspired krakkakow of an idea and a colossal faux pas of a miss. The kraka-ka-thoom was the waste of an hour to keep track of the letter hacks. This gives us another fun layer to check out each issue and I'm curious how many repeats we might see and how they match up with the previous letter(s). The shameful blunder of this episode was not mentioning when the Human Torch faced off against Plantman in Strange Tales 121, Plantman soundly defeated Johnny by pelting him with moist acorns. "Covered with dew!" to quote Mr. Storm. How such a monumental footnote could be left out of a series purporting to be essential is beyond my fathoming!
And now I'm imagining the end of 2001, which you probably haven't seen, with a close up on Johnny's face as he gasps out "The dew… the dew.."
Oddly when I comment "Unknown" Blogger is perfectly content that I'm a human but if I enter a name it asks me to verify I'm not a robot. Are there a lot of robot Peters? Is Blogger trolling me with a multi-week dildo joke?
…hours later… Maybe I didn't see 2001 either since it was Apocalypse Now I was thinking of. If it was 2001 it'd be a close up of Johnny's face as he says in wonder "It's full of dew–".
