My main question throughout this arc is who is the Shadow King? Is he the cosmic entity that was meant to be behind everything in Claremont's reality or is he just Amahl Farouk? I don't understand how the characters see him. Why is Scout the only character who thinks that he is sinister?
That's a lot more than one main question. I was obviously lying in my first sentence. New Mutants has completely drawn me in. Just like in CoTA Vita Ayala has structured the book around a series of mysteries. I also think they have done a great job on building on other writer's concepts. The use of the Crucible here is a case in point. Ayala does so much more with it than Hickman did really delving into the hierarchical structure of Krakoa. Seemingly if you're a headliner you can do what you want and if you're a background character you are just meant to go along with the flow.
There is some great work here and I can't wait for you to get to the next issue as it is amazing and terrifying all at once.
