The final Azraeling… for now, anyway!
Wrapping up the Nicholas Scratch stuff… well, sort of. There… really ain’t much to say about this one, not that that’ll stop me from occupying your ear for the better part of an hour.
Thankfully some friends of the show have delivered us an amazing NMaiLbag!

The only good thing I can say about this book is, thank the gods it is over.
I don’t remember anything about Nicholas Scratch campaigning for Gotham to be expelled from the USA, and I’m glad that I don’t. This story really wasn’t necessary to explain how Gotham was transformed into the No Man’s Land. This really is just an example of trying to get a bump in sales by appearing to tie in to a crossover.
I’ve been waiting for you to review these issues! It’s been 25 years, but one of my only
Memories of No Mans Land when it was originally released in my Senior Year of High School were of my good friend Jason purchasing these issues (and Azrael in general) and remarking how absolutely awful they were.
“Why do you keep buying it if it’s so bad?”
“It’s so bad, it has to be canceled soon.”
The joke was on him as Azrael would last another four years and 51 issues. I would not experience these myself until my first reading in 2010 and he was absolutely right. Thank you for reviewing these so I didn’t have to again!
