From Feast to Famine... and back to Feast again!

The sophomore volume of Hickman's flagship is... uneven.  It starts off amazingly strong, with one of the seminal stories of this entire era, and the source for many of our podcast discussions... the introduction of the Crucible!

From there, he wastes a bunch of our time with the Brood, a "funny, ha-ha" with Broo eating an Egg, a Deadly Genesis continuity error that breaks one of the ONLY rules associated with the Resurrection Protocols... then Empyre cash-ins!  At least ONE of those Empyre cash-ins was fun to read!

This is an interesting assortment... I've often wondered how folks who ONLY read the flagship were "receiving" this new era -- here's a chance to find out!

After X-Men Green, however, I feel I owe them all a sincere apology.  Today marks the end of what is, in my opinion, the worst X-Men story ever put to digital paper. 

Will Nature Girl and Curse have to answer for their crimes?  Of course not!

Will they actually learn anything?  Hell naw!

Will this story wrap up in a satisfying way?  You sh*ttin' me?

Anyway, today we get back to our never-ending Shadow King storyline... which, hey... is going to have to end at some point in the next couple of months.  In fairness, it kind of turns the corner here, and there's a true feeling of progression.

You ever hear a grown man gush?  If not, you've probably never listened to anyone talk about Hellions... because, damn this is one well-done book!

As we approach our conclusion we're taking a trip thru "shoe-drop city"... lotsa revelations, and food for thought dropped right in our waiting laps.  And, if you've listened to this program for a minute... you'll know that I'll sometimes sink my teeth into a theory, and not let it go.  I might do that a couple of times throughout today's discussion!
