Welcome, friends... to the landmark fiftieth episode of X-Lapsed!

Today, I'm taking a page out of the Chris is on Infinite Earths playbook... where I spend about a half-hour getting a little personal about just why this milestone is so important to me personally. For folks who are willing to indulge me, you have my gratitude! For those who'd rather just hear me talk about the last issue of X-Men + Fantastic Four... no problem, we're still friends! Just skip ahead to 29:32 and you'll miss all my spoo.

As far as X-Men + Fantastic Four #4... well, it's a little bit uneven... but, we'll give it a goo, and have a good time doing it.

Welcome friends, to a whole new series - and part of the "New Fall Season" here at the channel.

Longtime Legion-denier, Chris (@acecomics) looks to right the wrong of keeping DC's future-teen-heroes as a deliberate blind-spot in his comics knowledge... and to do so, he's found himself a friend to help him navigate this twisting and storied franchise. Lifelong Legion fan, Al Sedano (@AdamThanosPod) has graciously agreed to educate and guide me to... maybe eventual Legion-relevance... or, at least maybe being able to identify a dozen or so of these characters on sight!

For this first episode, we share our own Legion origins... or lack thereof, Al provides a brief overview of the franchise, and we start our coverage... well, at the start - with a look at Adventure Comics #247 from 1958!

As this series progresses, we will be alternating between covering Legion stories, and focusing on prominent Legion characters, to try and get me up to speed. If you're in need of some "Legion Learnin'", this might be the show for you! If you're already a certified "Doctor of Legionomics"... well, you still might enjoy hearing how ignorant I am about the property you hold so dear! Or, you can at least stick around long enough to hear how I ruined a really good song to make our theme music (apologies to Jarvis...)!

Today, I have far less fun with Issue #2 of Major X... which, rather than remaining a fun retro romp through the early '90s - starts taking itself a bit too seriously. We've got Atlantean politics to deal with... and that's just the beginning! I don't know about y'all, but Atlanteans are right up there with the Inhumans in the list of characters I couldn't care less about!

Keeping with our coverage of X-Men + Fantastic Four - this time out, Reed and the Gang are Krakoa-bound looking for their lost kids. Only problem is, they ain't there! Instead, they're out on an island somewhere with Uncle Doom and (Aunt?) Call Me Kate.

It's a knock down drag out affair when the X-Men and Fantastic Four go at it... and one that, despite how much I'm enjoying it, I'm going to poke several holes in.

Also: Some parting shots at Fallen Angels, a reminder of a hot-take I made about a potential romance between Cyclops and Polaris - which facilitates a plug for our Weird Comics History - Twilight of the Superheroes coverage, and an endorsement for... Major X-Lapsed?!

Today we begin the story I've been looking forward to since we first saw the tense confrontation between Reed Richards and Scott Summers way back in House of X #1 (Episode 001 of this very program)! Today we bear witness to the skirmish over "The Impossible Boy", the recently-rapidly-aged, Franklin Richards!

An Omega Level Mutant, Franklin would definitely be an asset for the growing mutant nation of Krakoa... there are just four things standing in the way. Also, our boy Franklin's powers are depleting with each use... wassupwitdat? Hopefully we'll find out here!

Starting this miniseries, X-Lapsed is now officially on the road to our milestone fiftieth episode... a milestone only to me!
